This project helped expand my skills in Adobe Illustrator by creating digital illustrations of a fictional energy drink in my academic career.

Based on my love for Greek mythology, this energy drink helps you become the god or goddess you need to accomplish your tasks. With assistance from flavors such as Persephone's pomegranate or Dionysus's grapes, a sip of Elysium can make you feel like your at the top of Mount Olympus.

Illustration Inspiration

As I wanted to expand my skills in Adobe Illustrator, I wanted to gain inspiration for the art style based on other's works that have minimal or no detail but still being able to convey the subject they're depicting.

Character Inspiration

Since I'm not the only fan of Greek mythology, I looked up to other artists who've accomplished depicting the lore of Ancient Greece through the simplistic art style I wanted to achieve.

Persephone Inspiration

As I brainstormed what one of the first drink flavors of Elysium would be, I instinctively and excitedly looked forward to illustrating the goddess of spring, Persephone. With the pomegranate being the fruit most connected to her lore, this was the perfect character I wanted to illustrate first.

The collage depicts some of my main inspiration for Persephone, based on the work of Rachel Smythe's web comic "Lore Olympus".

Elysium Marker Sketch

To set an idea, and physically manifest how I imagine the Elysium brand, I created this quick illustration. Testing different color combinations, a potential logo, and possible deities for the flavors, this became the first step to creating physical drafts for the brand visuals.

Persephone Sketch

Before moving to Adobe Illustrator, I sketched Persephone and her pomegranate into the pose and structure I wanted to achieve, using this sketch as a reference.

After many hours of learning and exploring the different illustration techniques Adobe Illustrator provides, I finally created the front face of how the pomegranate flavor would be depicted on an Elysium energy drink.

A mockup of this illustration being used will be provided in the near future.
